| I want to use polymer electrolyte gating techniques to vary the carrier density in complex oxide superlattices like LaAlO3 / LaNiO3 and other layered material systems such as graphene and boron nitride. By tuning the carrier density over a wide range one can study the electronic structure and interaction effects such as Mott insulator states, superconductivity or magnetic ordering. | |||
